BASALTINA S.R.L./ INBRA POLAND

Basaltina (basalt) as a material was known since the Roman times as “Pietra Aniciana”. The ancient Romans used Pietra Aniciana to build the roads and monuments of their empire. Through the centuries the quarries were constantly excavated by local craftsmen. The life long dream of Giuseppe Tecchi Cristofori Celiani was to gather all the quarries under one owner. In 1928 the dream of lis life was realised and Basaltina was established. Since the very beginning the company has been committed to developing its technology and to improve its excavation and manufacturing process. He has allowed Basaltina to grow quickly and become a company internationally recognized. Basaltina stone has given life to some of the most famous architects projects enhancing their creations. The generations who followed managed to fulfill that original dream of the founder, which is now theirs.

MATERIAL AND ITS TEXTURES

MATERIAL AND ITS TEXTURES

Basaltina is a light grey basalt know and used since the ages. It is a massive rock of volcanic origin. Its structure is dense, uniform, frost resistant and stands up to heavy traffic. These historical characteristics have been confirmed by specific laboratory tests and time tested historic installations. Through the centuries Basaltina has been successfully used for commercial and residential applications where its grey colour allows matching all building material. It is a dimensionally cut stone which can be supplied in many kinds of finishes suitable for both interior and exterior use. Basaltina occurs in many textures, e.g. polished, honed, bush-hammered, antic etc.
